About the Project
  •

Our project is in its early days of development and its aim is to provide a community and opportunity centre in Easterhouse, Glasgow - named 'Phoenix Community and Opportunity Centre'.

The centre will be focusing on the vulnerable, deprived, excluded, marginalised and hardest to reach residents within Easterhouse.

The primary objective of the Phoenix Centre will be to provide a facility with resources, services and activities that will assist the wider regeneration of Easterhouse by enhancing the quality of peoples lives, increasing economic activity, reducing poverty and other forms of deprivation, improving residents health, reducing levels of crime and anti social behaviour thereby addressing and changing the overall capacity of the community and its population.

The Phoenix Community and Opportunity Centre aims to combat gang/territorial violence, underage drinking, drug use and anti social behaviour among the youth in the area by providing a comprehensive range of diversionary activities which appeal to young people delivered flexibly and having discreet links to enhancing life.

The centre also aims to provide links between all ages within the community encouraging communication, support and understanding.

Everything that we have achieved so far has been as a direct result of the dedication and hard work of a small group of people who have given their time and energies for no monetary reward.

Fundraising has now become a major part of our next steps.
